Homemade Apple Pie

I Made Pie

Like, the Crust and Everything

I have made plenty of pies, but I’ve always been a store-bought crust kind of gal because pie dough is intimidating. A friend sent me a link to a pie workshop led by H. M. Messinger, and I decided it was time to learn how to make a full-freakin-pie.

The workshop was so much fun! I had an amazing dinner, and most importantly learned I was scared of pie dough for no reason. I learned some great tricks (keeping the dough shaggy, letting the dough hydrate in the fridge, making the scalloped edge), and I got to bring home a delicious mini apple pie, lovingly made by me.

As of this moment, I have two round of pie dough chilling in my fridge, so friends–if you’re reading this–I hope you’re ready for me to force feed you lots of pie.
